I don't know if any of you have had to deal with telecheck but if you have my prayers are with you.
I just returned from the grocery store with out my groceries and I am hopping mad!
We write very few checks here in the Texas outback because very few places will accept them, for reasons that I completely understand if I owned a business here I probably wouldn't either, all the banks here have debit cards you either have to use them or cash except for the grocery stores and Walmarts, which will take checks. We just switched banks several months ago and have only one debit card with that bank. My dear husband had the debit card and was driving the boss around so I took the check book and headed to town to get my groceries. With my cart runnith over I wheeled up to the checkout line unloaded, made the checkout girl mad because I asked for paper instead of plastic, and waited on the damage. I wrote my check and ..... you guessed it, my check was declined!!! I explained there must be some kind of mistake, with a million people waiting in line behind me, she ran it again and same thing, declined!!!I asked to speak the manager she said Mam there is just nothing else I can do for you , and I replied rather bluntly , yes there is, you can go put all these groceries back up.And I slinked out of the grocery store embarrassed and humiliated.
Well of course being frazzled and at this point mad, I rushed to the convenient store for a Mountain Dew to calm my nerves and while sitting in the parking lot slurping my dew and chain smoking I called the 800 number the very helpful checkout girl gave me for telecheck. After going through the 15 minutes of computer number punching I was finally able to speak with a real person and this is what I found out. I was declined because I don't write very many checks so I don't have much of a "check writing history" and because the last big check I wrote (over $100.00) was in 2010, AND the last check I wrote in 2010 was not the check number before the check I wrote today, I was out of sequence. The nice young women assured me it had nothing to do with my finances they just felt it was a security risk, the check amount was rather large she very nicely told me. OH REALLY, I explained to her that I had just drove 40 miles to the grocery store and had to leave without my groceries because someone sitting in an office somewhere decided my check amount was to big, even if I had the money in the bank to cover it.
she apologized and encouraged me to continue to write checks. Has this world lost its mind!!!!! If I have the money in the bank I ought to be able to write as many and as big of checks as I want to. After all it is my money.Who do these people think they are and why do they have my bank account information anyway. Well ok I'm done spewing now and on the bright side we're going out to eat tonight because...... you guessed it I HAVE NO GROCERYS!
Perhaps they are not stars; but rather openings in Heaven, where the love of our lost ones pour through and shine down upon us, to let us know they are happy.

Rainbows
People on facebook have asked me about my profile picture ( which is one of the pictures of the rainbow) wondering why I choose the rainbow and not a picture of myself. One reason is I do not have a picture of myself I really want to share with the world, I quite taking pictures of myself about 40 pounds ago, when I explain that to them they want to know if it is to remind everyone about Gods promise in Genesis 9:13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Gods promise to us and all living creatures that he will never destroy all the earth with floods again. Even though every time I see a rainbow I do think of that promise and the great mercy and love Gods has for us that is not the reason either. The rainbow took on a whole new meaning for me the first time I heard The Band Perry's song If I Die Young,
Lord make me a rainbow I'll shine down on my mother
She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors
That verse is my favorite verse in the song because it reminds me of my Ethan who I lost on April 13 2005. I love the thought of standing under his colors as he shines down on me from Heaven.I don't get to see rainbows very often in this part of the world, but when I do the colors shine down a little brighter and bolder than they use to. So next time you see a rainbow stop and take notice, someone you love is shining down on you.
